Medication Support and Recovery Service

The Medication Support and Recovery Service (MSRS) is a new treatment service for people who are dependent on, or having problems with, their use of prescription and over-the-counter medications. Our service includes specialist counsellors, nursing staff and peer support workers and we are based within local community health services.

Below we have some information and resources. Please click on what best describes your situation to find out more.

MSRS is here to support you.
We are still open and accepting referrals during COVID-19.

Peer Support Groups

Our Peer Support Groups are run by two MSRS Peer Support Workers. These groups aim to help people affected by substance misuse, and are a safe place to share experiences, build support relationships and encourage positive change.

MSRS Peer Support groups are open to anybody over 18 who is struggling or affected by substance misuse— including alcohol, illicit drugs, prescribed or over-the-counter medications. It is confidential and free to join a group, and you don’t need a referral or to come along.

To find out more about the groups we’re currently offering, give us a call on 1800 931 101  or 9810 3080.
