Medication Support and Recovery Service

The Medication Support and Recovery Service (MSRS) is a new treatment service for people who are dependent on, or having problems with, their use of prescription and over-the-counter medications. Our service includes specialist counsellors, nursing staff and peer support workers and we are based within local community health services.

Below we have some information and resources. Please click on what best describes your situation to find out more.

Peer Support Groups

The Peer Support Groups are run by two MSRS Peer Support Workers. The groups aims to help people affected by substance misuse, and it is a safe place to share experiences, build support relationships and encourage positive change.

It is open to anybody over 18 struggling or affected by substance misuse, including alcohol, illicit drugs, prescribed or over-the-counter medications. It is a confidential and free group, and you don’t need anything to come along.
